Poppy Seed Bread

 

3 eggs, slightly beaten                              1  1/2 c. milk

3 c. flour                                                  1  1/8 c. vegetable oil

1  1/2 tsp. salt                                           1  1/2 tsp. almond extract

1  1/2 tsp. baking powder                         1  1/2 tsp. butter extract

2 1/4 c. sugar                                           1  1/2 tsp. vanilla

1  1/2 T. Poppy seeds                                             

                                                                     

 

Glaze:

1/4 c. orange juice                                    1/2 tsp. butter extract

3/4 c. sugar                                               1/2 tsp. vanilla

1/2 tsp. almond extract

 

     Put all ingredients in a mixing bowl and beat 1-2 minutes.  Do not overbeat.  Grease and flour 2 loaf pans and divide batter equally in each.  Bake at 350° for 1 hour or until toothpick inserted into center of bread comes out clean.

     Whisk together ingredients for glaze and brush over bread while loaves are still warm and in pans.  Cool completely before removing bread from pans.
